Chef Matthew Oetting is expanding his acclaimed Marta restaurant to Harbor Point, but with a few new twists. Beatty Development Group and Armada Hoffler announced today that Marta al Mare will open Summer 2026 at the T. Rowe Price Global Headquarters, taking a 3,050 square foot endcap space overlooking the recently completed Point Park.
In keeping with the spirit of Oetting’s Butchers Hill restaurant, Marta al Mare will serve guests American cuisine with an Italian soul. In addition to the classic dishes and signature hand-shaped pasta that made the original Marta an instant hit in Baltimore, the menu at Marta al Mare will boast a seasonal seafood-forward approach, with dishes such as Lobster Saltimbocca, Toro Arancini, and whole grilled Turbot. Further seeking to create an authentic coastal dining experience right on the harbor, Marta al Mare will feature an expansive outdoor dining area that overlooks the 4.5-acre Point Park, offering stunning waterfront views.
“I’m excited to bring Marta al Mare to Harbor Point,” said Oetting. “As development along the waterfront has emerged and taken shape, there are a lot of great things happening with the dining scene in this part of Baltimore. I’ve been looking for the right opportunity to introduce a new twist on Marta that introduces fresh seafood for some time now, and the waterfront location at Harbor Point is the perfect opportunity."
Also new at Marta al Mare will be an expanded brunch menu, available six days a week. Guests can expect a robust menu of familiar brunch dishes with a modern Italian twist, as well as more decadent offerings, such as caviar omelets, croissant waffles, and a “fork and knife” burger that is not to be missed. Rumor has it that Marta al Mare may also feature a caviar and martini cart ushering throughout the dining room.
“The original Marta has developed a well-earned reputation as a place where people can gather and connect over great food,” said Max Beatty, Principal, Beatty Development Group. “In looking to expand on that, Matt and his team have put together some really fun and creative new ideas for this next iteration. We’re looking forward to seeing the vision for Marta al Mare come to life at Harbor Point and join the vibrant community that is growing here.”
Marta al Mare is the first tenant announcement for the T. Rowe Price Global Headquarters, opened in 2025. The restaurant joins a steadily expanding list of dining options at Harbor Point that includes the recent openings of La Jetée, a Provençal bistro from James Beard Award-winning chef and restaurateur Spike Gjerde, and executive chef David Zamudio’s Spanish-themed Josefina. Other restaurant openings scheduled for 2026 are Sartori, a brand-new Italian concept from Ed Bosco (Verde), and Grain and Berry, the first location in Maryland for the Florida-based superfood café.
Located along Baltimore’s scenic waterfront between Harbor East and Fell’s Point, Harbor Point is a 27-acre mixed-use neighborhood with more than four million square feet of retail, residential, hotel, and office uses, as well as 9.5 acres of open space.
Henry DeFord and Tim Harrington of MacKenzie Retail represented the landlord, Armada Hoffler, in the transaction. Peter Jackson of JLL represented the tenant.
