Döner Brös Opening Second Restaurant at 1405 Point

Döner Brös, the popular local food truck turned restaurant, will open a second location at 1405 Point in Harbor Point, according to a joint announcement made today by Armada Hoffler Properties and Beatty Development Group.

The new restaurant will lease 2,950 square feet of space at 1409 Point Street, with a tentative opening scheduled for Summer 2020. In addition to the same kebabs, dürüms, rice bowls, and fries that have made Döner Brös a hit throughout Baltimore; the new 1405 Point location will also serve beer and wine in an open-concept, German beer hall style setting. Their new restaurant will also incorporate a state-of-the-art ordering system for easier customization and an expanded shareable menu packed with delicious new items, perfect for small groups or to be eaten on the go.

The Döner Brös story begins in September of 2015 when Alex Politsch and Steven Banks went to Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany and fell in love with the world-famous Döner Kebab. Upon their return, they went back to their daily routines but quickly realized that their mission was to bring the world’s most popular take-away food to the U.S. After a few years of development, Döner Brös was born and within a few months quickly grew to become one of the most popular food trucks in Baltimore. In 2018, Döner Brös opened their first brick and mortar location at Nine East 33rd in Charles Village (another joint Armada Hoffler/Beatty Development project).

“The new Döner Brös concept in Harbor Point will embody all the greatest elements of our story,” said Steven Banks, co-founder of Döner Brös. “In addition to great food, our brand has always been about community, inclusion and light-hearted fun. The unique mixture of residential, corporate office space and hip hangout spots makes Harbor Point one of the coolest neighborhoods in Baltimore – all these factors provide us with the perfect opportunity to show our full potential as a growing brand. We’re simply ecstatic!”

“Döner Brös is a great Baltimore success story,” said Michael Beatty, President of Beatty Development Group. “Alex and Steven are the type of people you root for – they have worked hard to take something they’re both very passionate about and have steadily grown it into a thriving local business. We could not be more excited to continue our relationship with them at Harbor Point. They’re going to be a great addition to the neighborhood.”

Opened in 2018, 1405 Point is a 17-story luxury residential building with 289 apartments, best-in-class amenities, and almost 18,000 square feet of street-level retail space. Döner Brös will join the previously opened Solidcore and Vida Taco Bar, as well as the recently announced Amanda Gallagher Orthodontics.

Brian Finkelstein of KLNB represented the landlord in the transaction; Christopher DeLuca with MPC represented Döner Brös.
