 Harbor Point Re Bermuda operates as our property catastrophe center.  We provide US, non-US and worldwide coverage exclusively on a treaty basis.  We have a well-diversified and managed portfolio of business.

Harbor Point Re Bermuda sources business primarily through the broker market. We target clients with strong balance sheets, demonstrated market expertise, a proven management strategy and the ability to provide comprehensive exposure data. We reinsure single state, regional and national insurance companies. 

Harbor Point Re Bermuda’s maximum capacity is $50 million per program.

Property Catastrophe

We reinsure exposures to property and related losses from natural disasters, such as hurricanes, wind storms and earthquakes, and other catastrophic events. We focus on exposures in the US, UK, Europe, Japan and Canada, but also consider worldwide exposures. We write both personal and commercial lines generally on an excess of loss basis.

Property Per Risk

We reinsure individual property risks such as buildings, structures, equipment and contents, and provide coverage for both personal lines and commercial property exposures. We underwrite all international exposures and those US exposures that are originally written outside the US on an excess of loss basis.

Property Quota Share

We reinsure personal and commercial lines property exposures on a quota share basis.  We underwrite all international exposures and those US exposures that are originally written outside the US.

Retro

We write retrocessional coverage for all types of underlying exposures and geographic zones. We provide coverage based principally on a physical trigger basis but also on an industry loss basis. We also write collateralized retrocessional coverage on behalf of New Point Limited. 

Casualty and Professional Lines

We reinsure all types of casualty and professional risks including umbrella, excess liability, directors and officers, and errors and omissions, general liability for companies domiciled outside the US.

Other Reinsurance

 We offer tailored solutions to other reinsurance needs on an individual basis.
